M&OP CEO, Mr John Harnden AM, is this year’s recipient of the Australian Event Awards Lifetime Achievement Award.
Melbourne & Olympic Parks (M&OP) CEO, Mr John Harnden AM, is this year’s recipient of the Australian Event Awards Lifetime Achievement Award, presented on Wednesday 27 October.
The Australian Event Awards is the national awards program for the events industry, with the annual Lifetime Achievement Award recognising an industry figure who has made significant contributions in Australia.
Mr Harnden, appointed as CEO of M&OP in 2019, also serves as Chair of the ICC 2022 T20 World Cup Organising Committee and a Director of Cricket Australia.
His experience in sports and entertainment spans a 30-year career in key leadership positions, including as Chair and Chief Executive of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, Chief Executive of the ICC 2015 World Cup Organising Committee, and Chief Executive of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
In 2007, Mr Harnden was awarded an Order of Australia for services to sport for his work on the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, and in 2020 he was given lifetime membership of Motorsport Australia.
Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust Chair, Patrick Flannigan, has extended his congratulations to Mr Harnden, recognising his significant contribution to the industry in Australia.
