TANDERRUM BRIDGE OFFICIALLY OPENS
Melbourne’s newest iconic landmark – the Tanderrum Bridge - has officially opened.
Brian Morris joined Uncle Colin Hunter, Acting Minister for Sport Philip Dalidakis and Craig Tiley in a traditional Indigenous smoking ceremony to officially open the bridge that provides a faster and safer link from the city to Melbourne’s world class sports and entertainment precinct.
Tanderrum Bridge is the centrepiece of the $338 million stage two redevelopment of Melbourne Park.
The bridge was named Tanderrum following a state wide competition. Tanderrum is a welcoming ceremony by the people of Kulin Nations, featuring song, dance and cultural exchange, providing safe passage for visitors on country.
