Activities your kids will love at the Australian Open

Love tennis but worry your kids won’t be so keen?

Don’t worry – there's something to keep everyone happy at the Australian Open! Here are a few of the things to look forward to at this years’ AO...

1)  Kids Tennis Day – Saturday 18 January

A day filled with fun, excitement and enough activities to keep your children entertained for HOURS. Kids can practice their tennis skills, watch players get their last-minute shots in and enjoy live music/performances at the AO Live Stage.

Tickets are just $5 for kids and $10 for adults and hey, you never know - you might have a future champion on your hands!

2) Kids ground passes are $5 every day

If you want to experience everything the Australian Open has to offer, a grounds pass is a great option. You’ll be able to explore the whole site and can bring your children with you – kids grounds passes are just $5, so you can have a big family day out that doesn’t cost a fortune.

3)  The AO Ballpark

Located in Birrarung Marr, kids of all ages will LOVE this spot. Think aqua play, stage shows, obstacle courses, climbing walls... there’s no shortage of amazing activities to keep your little ones occupied all day.

4) The AO Hilltop

Brand new this year, the AO Hilltop is the perfect viewing point, made especially for families with older children. Don’t miss the huge 35m SkyFlyer* (the highest vantage point of the AO), take a minute to chill at the Giant Cabana Oasis or simply sit and watch the tennis with a bite to eat.

*You will need to pay and purchase a ticket to use this ride.

5) Learn to play tennis at the AO

Plus, if you really do have an aspiring tennis star on your hands, you can book them in for tennis focused camps for A02020. Running from January 6 – 28, these camps are for 5-12 year old's of all abilities, and are taught by qualified coaches. They’ll learn to play, make friends and feel fully immersed in the AO spirit – a great way to kick off their glistening tennis career, eh?

6) Kids Club onsite

AO Kids Club will host a jam-packed program featuring activities for kids aged 5-12. Children are kept safe and entertained, meaning you can explore the AO yourself and know that your kids are having an amazing time while you do. It’s a win-win! Make sure you book, as spaces are limited.
