AAMI Park opened its doors on Sunday to give 125 lucky people an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the iconic complex as part of Open House Melbourne.

Five tours ran across the afternoon, allowing the small groups to get up close and personal to parts of the venue not usually open to the public including the pitch, training facilities and the stadium’s control centre.

The tours catered to design and sporting enthusiasts alike, highlighting the venue’s unique design elements while providing a glimpse into where some of the world’s best athletes prepare before a big game.

Participants made the most of the opportunity to take photos of the vast empty stadium, gaining a whole new perspective on the space which is usually seen filled with thousands of spectators.

With the fantastic weather adding to the experience, participants had a memorable day out and Melbourne and Olympic Parks looks forward to opening its doors again for Open House Melbourne in 2017.
