Melbourne City

A-Leagues

AAMI Park is home to Melbourne City FC who first joined the A-League at the start of the 2010-11 season under their founding brand Melbourne Heart. In 2014 the team was purchased by the City Football Group, re-branding to Melbourne City.

The club has played all their A-League Men’s home games out of AAMI Park since 2010, and in 2021 claimed their first A-League Men’s Championship in front of 15,000 fans. The home ground atmosphere was electric, despite reduced crowd capacities due to COVID-19.

The Melbourne City A-League Women’s team is one of the most successful in the competition’s history and holds the record for the most consecutive championships, with victories in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020. The 2016 and 2020 grand finals both took place at AAMI Park.
