Melbourne Park was at its best in January, with tennis fans and players making the most of the precinct’s venues and facilities during the Australian Open.
While home to a diverse range of events throughout the year, the Australian Open sees Melbourne Park activated to its fullest extent, maximising the benefits delivered through the Victorian Government’s near-$1 billion Melbourne Park Redevelopment (MPR).
Completed in 2021 and made possible by the support of Development Victoria, Sport and Recreation Victoria, Tennis Australia and Melbourne & Olympic Parks, the MPR delivered significant upgrades to the site, helping to build the precinct into a world-class destination for live events, and guaranteeing Melbourne as the home of the Australian Open until at least 2046.
